RFHS Choir Accomplishments:

Fall & Winter 2018

  • Fall 2018: We have 23 talented women in our RFHS Women's Choir, 5 great singers in our RFHS Men's Choir, and 16 excellent singers in Chamber Choir!

  • We started a choir at Carbondale Middle School after over TWO DECADES of a wait with great success including singers grades 5-8 for a total of 49 singers!!

  • Congratulations to Travis Ochko (11), Patrick Keleher (11), & William Luckett (12), our three representatives who auditioned for Colorado All State Choir in Grand Junction at the end of October! This is two more than our single student we sent in 2017!  While they were not ultimately accepted, we're very proud of their hard work and dedication to execute this difficult audition.

  • Congratulations to our ten students who auditioned for the National American Choral Directors' Honor Choirs to take place in March of 2018: Madison Diaz, Judith Gonzalez, Izzy Knaus, Jessica Kollar, Scottie Bohlender, Travis Ochko, Patrick Keleher, Willima Luckett, Ryan Camp, and William Bingaman! While they were not selected for this intense, national auditioned honor choir this year, they are prepared for next years' challenge and we're very proud of their hard work and exemplary dedication!

  • Congratulations to the elevent representatives we sent to the Colorado Choral Directors' Select Choir on November 11-12th in Grand Junction. Their culminating concert was incredible!  Congratulations to Jessica Kollar (10), Madison Diaz (10), Ayden Richmond (10), Isabella Knaus (10), William Bingaman (10), Ryan Camp (10), Lance Weidemann (11), Travis Ochko (11), Scottie Bohlender (9), William Luckett (12), and Tyler Gruel (12). You guys were amazing!

  • We had a tremendously successful Holiday Harmonies Winter Concert on December 11th at The Orchard in Carbondale! Congratulations to all the performers of Women's Choir, Men's Choir, Guitar Class, CMS Choir, amazing soloists, and the RFHS Jazz Band!  We had a full house and many community sponsors who supported our silent auction. Collectively we made $4,300 which will go toward important purchases for our department & students. Special thanks to the Vanderhoof Family Foundation who donated an additional $1,500. Happy Holidays to all of you and thank you for your generosity!! Spring 2019

  • We were in the NEWS! Thanks to the Sopris Sun & The Post Independent for the excellent representation of our department in the media. We're thrilled to have been acknowledged.

  • Our program is going strong with over 66 students involved in the Second Annual Solo & Ensemble Competition at RFHS on Saturday, February 23rd. We're excited to welcome Ms. Luisa Marie Rodriguez to our school as our featured clinician.

  • For the first time in the history of Roaring Fork High School, the choirs participated in choir competition. On April 25 Women's Choir and Chamber Choir traveled to Grand Junction, Colorado to perform at Colorado West Competition at CMU Campus. Congratulations to all our performers!
